Video Tutorial - Summer Makeup w/ Jenn Streicher
You read that right!! Jenn Streicher is teaching me bronzer (and so much more)
TODAY, yes today, is the official first day of summer! And in a humbling experience, I realized I wanted that perfect touch of sun look but am far too committed to my SPF 50+ protection and didn’t have the slightest clue how to convincingly use a bronzer without looking like I was from the Jersey Shore. Moments like these, it really is wonderful to have a very talented sister.
I called in the big guns this week and had Jenn Streicher (celebrity makeup artist, owner of Duchess, and of course, a Streicher Sister) overhaul my makeup bag, help me choose some new proper products for my recently over-forty skin, and find a glowy summer look that is fresh and easy with minimal products. Easy enough right? Well for her, it is! I am never one that likes the feeling of makeup on my face — I like a concealer but not a foundation, a fun lip but easy on the cheeks. I like beauty that enhances what is natural and/or feels fun. And especcially for summertime when I am mainly outdoors and active, minimal but impactful is the way to go.
As for a little life update — we’ve been loving our stay in Sonoma and exploring all over! However, I think it may feel a little too touristy for me to live there. It’s bustling on the weekends, but Monday through Thursday, it’s pretty quiet and closed. I’ve been exploring a lot around the area where I cut hair at my girl Michele Holmes's studio in Corte Madera. I love some of the surrounding areas, but one that stands out the most right now is San Anselmo.
Ansel and I have been spending lots of time there checking out all the parks, shops, and restaurants. I love that it’s closer to a big city but still really cute quaint, quiet, and provides a ton of nature. I’m meeting up with my friend Michelle who is very well connected in the area. There’s even already a little space available for a potential little beauty studio (shhhhh…) it’s so very much in the works. But I can think of nothing better than to live in Tsang and Sal and have a business in the area! Sounds like the best life possible so that’s what we’re working towards.
My short-term rental in Sonoma ends at the end of the month and we’re looking for a rental in San Anselmo for July and August. Yes it’s a lot of moving parts, especially with a little one, but I’ve just been telling Ansel all this is all part of our big summer adventure! He’s actually been really great, and since Clay and I are such adventurers at heart, I knew he would be on board.
Now let’s jump on in! Join me (and Jenn!) for your glowy, fresh summertime routine.
